Chogmal Chopra traveled to Murshidabad, West Bengal in search of silk weaving and processing units to start trading in silk textiles. He incorporated Amar Silk House in Khagra.
Over the 20 years, the family expanded the trading business by employing sales agents across India, Sri Lanka, and Burma. The business even started commissioning the printing of silk saris which were supplied to retailers across the country.
Padam Chand Chopra (grandson of Chogmal Chopra) moved to Khagra (Murshidabad) to join Amar Silk House and started developing and trading in new varieties of silk. He exclusively made Khagra Pagri (Turban) Silks which were used for men’s turbans across the country. He also started supplying many exporters in Calcutta.
Sushil Kumar Chopra (Son of Padam Chand Chopra), interested in textiles from an early age, started trading in Silk fabrics in Kolkata.
He incorporated Royal Touch Overseas in the Central Textile District of Kolkata along with 2 brothers to wholesale different varieties of textiles from all over the country and at the same time established a Men’s Bespoke Tailoring and Ready-to-wear service.
Sushil Kumar Chopra set up a new division to export luxurious woven, printed, and embroidered textiles to brands in Europe, Israel, and Japan.
Sushil Chopra to move forward with Royal Touch and as an export business with the addition of men’s and women’s accessories, such as scarves and shawls, to its offering.
Kritesh Chopra (Son of Sushil Kumar Chopra) joins the business and expands the manufacturing and export of Handloom Fabrics and Scarves to new markets.
